| Technical Development Support overviewcall for proposalssubmit a proposal Solicitation for Proposals: Deadline June 12, 2009 The Keck Institute for Space Studies (KISS) is soliciting follow-on technical development proposals from Caltech Campus faculty who have been participants in one of the three KISS Large Study Programs for the academic year 2008/2009. The Large Study Program areas eligible to propose to this solicitation are:
KISS is soliciting proposals for further technical development and seed funding in the technical areas identified as promising by the Large Study Programs. Technical development work can include technology development, development of prototypes, laboratory work, modeling, simulations and computation, as well as detailed scientific and engineering research aimed at demonstrating new technical approaches. Proposals submitted in response to this solicitation must have a Caltech Campus Principal Investigator (PI), and must also identify a lead JPL Co-Investigator (Co-I). The proposal is expected to include other Co-Is from Campus, from JPL, and possibly from other institutions outside of Caltech. Campus Co-Is and external Co-Is may receive support through the proposed technical development effort. JPL Co-Is cannot receive funding support from KISS, rather JPL Co-Is need to secure support for their technical work separately through JPL. We encourage diversity in the Co-Is participating in the technical work. Questions? Contact Michele Judd at 626-395-6630. |
