Workshop Overview:

This workshop aims to convene a diverse group of researchers, including end-users, designers, fabricators, and metrology experts, to explore and advance the application of metasurface optics in the field of astronomy and high-resolution imaging.

The workshop objective is to engage with exoplanet scientists and metasurface researchers and engineers to explore the application of this technology to create solutions for the challenges of direct imaging and spectroscopy of exoplanets. We want to foster this nascent community through a focused week of technical and social interaction. This will include:

  1. Knowledge Exchange and Collaboration
  2. Understanding Metasurface Optics in Astronomy
  3. Showcasing Applications and Case Studies
  4. Identifying Challenges and Exploring Solution
  5. Networking and Future Collaborations

The ultimate goal of this workshop is to catalyze advancements in the field of metasurface optics specifically tailored for exoplanet detection and high-contrast imaging, fostering a collaborative environment that drives innovation, knowledge dissemination, and the translation of research findings into practical applications within the realm of astronomy and imaging technology.
