Workshop Overview:
Building on the success of the first superconducting nitride workshop, this meeting will bring together collaboration members from Caltech, JPL, NIST, and a number of participating institutions to summarize the progress made during the previous year and to discuss the project aims for the near future. The topics to be considered include: advancements in fabrication, processing, and our physical understanding of superconducting nitride materials; the laboratory and on-telescope results of detector arrays operating in the sub-mm, far-infrared, and near-infrared/optical wavelengths; current prototype designs and measured results of next-generation on-chip spectrometers; and the progress made toward realizing a broadband, quantum-limited parametric amplifier. The state-of-the-art imaging and spectroscopic capabilities developed by this technical development program are expected to significantly impact the most vital areas in modern astrophysics.
