KECK INSTITUTE FOR SPACE STUDIES

KISS Showcase and Caltech/JPL Networking Mixer

Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 3-7 PM

KISS Showcase Event: registration from 3pm for a 3:30pm start, Chen 100 Lecture Hall
Caltech/JPL Networking Mixer: 5:30-7pm, Keck Center Courtyard

This event will integrate the annual Caltech-JPL networking mixer, the last of which was held in July 2024, with additional content to showcase the outcomes of recent KISS studies.

Join us for the inaugural KISS Showcase, designed to highlight the outcomes and impact of Keck Institute for Space Studies (KISS) initiatives. This afternoon event will showcase groundbreaking research, innovative collaborations, and the transformative ideas that have emerged from KISS in recent years. Through engaging discussions and networking opportunities, we aim to highlight value of KISS to our community, as well as inspire new ideas and partnerships for the future of space exploration.

The networking mixer is designed to bring together Campus faculty and JPL researchers who are interested in collaborating on topics of mutual interest. This event will enable Caltech faculty to interact with JPL researchers with the goal to build strong and diverse joint research programs in the fields of Earth and Space Science, and Technology. The hope is that it will open up possibilities for joint research beginning with opportunities through the Keck Institute for Space Studies, the JPL Researchers On Campus (JROC), President’s and Director’s Research and Development Fund (PDRDF), and other relevant programs.

Questions? Contact Harriet Brettle (hbrettle@caltech.edu) and/or Jordana Blacksberg (jordana.blacksberg@jpl.nasa.gov)

The reception is hosted by the JPL Office of Research and Development and the Keck Institute for Space Studies.

Lodging for out-of-town attendees

There are a number of hotels that are close to the Caltech campus where we have a negotiated rate. (Please note that this negotiated rate does not guarantee you the lowest rate as there may be internet specials or AAA rates that may be better.)

Parking (for Visitors and for JPL Personnel)

Please park in Parking Lot 10 or 12 (primary), Parking Structure 1 (secondary) or Holliston Parking Structure - locations are shown in this map.

Purchase a parking permit at the pay station identified on the map in Structure 1 or Holliston Parking Structure (JPLers may use their JPL hang tag) and display it on your dashboard. Please park in any unnamed spaces.
